As a London Assembly member, I’ll take the movement for a Green New Deal into City Hall.

From climate strikers to trade unionists, it’s time our voices set the agenda.

Growing up in South East London I have seen things go from bad to worse because of Tory austerity. Friends juggling jobs in the gig economy to pay rocketing rents, cuts to mental health services and the rise of the far right.

Determined to tackle injustice in the world, I studied law and human rights at university and then I became a campaigner. Working with organisations like Keep Our NHS Public, I campaigned against the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) – a proposed EU-US trade deal that threatened to further the privatisation of public services like the NHS.

I’ve spent years campaigning for a better world and researching into the solutions to the world’s problems, particularly for climate justice. Now I know what it takes to deliver campaign wins that can transform our city and our country.

In 2018, I was elected as a Labour councillor in my home borough of Lewisham. I love meeting local people and supporting them as a Councillor - there’s nothing more rewarding than finding someone housing or getting vulnerable people the help they need. I’ve also been able to support incredible local projects that showcase the solidarity and kindness Londoners have.

Now I want to be on the London Assembly to put power in the hands of marginalised communities in London and deliver a Green New Deal for London.

Together, let’s transform London
